Cleaning up the world's waters is tasked under the Change for the Better mission carried out by Oris.

In 2020, the brand's focus is to support environmental projects in Lake Baikal, Siberia, Carysfort Reef in Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary in the US, and the Hangang River in South Korea.

The Hangang, South Korea's second longest river, runs through Seoul. One of the causes of its pollution is the significant decrease in the water flow rate due to underwater dams built under bridges.

The Swiss watchmaker supports Seoul KFEM, part of the Korean Federation for Environmental Movements, in the restoration of the river after years of neglect. In addition, it will back up a series of clean-up days scheduled by the non-governmental organisation later in the year.

Sales of Oris Hangang Limited Edition, released in 2,000 pieces, will also help fund the Hangang clean-up project.

Based on the Aquis diver's watch, the water-saving model is housed in a 43.5mm stainless steel case with a unidirectional rotating bezel for recording dive times.

The deep green colour of both the ceramic bezel insert and the dial is inspired by creek waters found at the Hangang's source, while the case back is engraved with a map of the river's path across Korea.

Powered by an automatic movement, the Oris Hangang Limited Edition is water-resistant to 30 bar (300m).

The Oris collection is available at its pop-up store at Central International Watch Fair 2020 until Sept 14.
