Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park has embarked on an exciting new voyage with the launch of Sirimahannop, a one-of-a-kind gastronomic attraction in the form of three-masted tall ship on a bank of Chao Phraya River.

The spectacular 58.5m long vessel with an 11m central mast, permanently docked at Asiatique The Riverfront, is a newly-built replica of a Royal Thai Navy ship from the reign of King Rama V (1868-1910).

The tall ship was used in transporting teak wood and other goods to Europe. Upon return it carried back coal to the Thai capital.

King Chulalongkorn had nurtured state relations with Denmark and later allowed the vessel's Danish captain, Hans Niels Andersen, to establish East Asiatic Trading Company.

The commercial bond founded on the East Asiatic Pier, which is now home to Asiatique, is believe to have played a significant role in maintaining Thailand's independence and sovereignty until this day.

Managed by the 5-star hotel, Sirimahannop is a 135 million baht dining and function venue that can accommodate up to 300 guests.

It serves up Thai and international cuisine created in to tribute to the ship's bygone glory. From the bar are cocktails and signature drinks inspired by world-wide maritime heritage.

The Upper Deck of the ship offers an al fresco dine-and-wine experience. Casual stool seating is set along the starboard side and with the glittering Chao Phraya River as backdrop.

The Lower Deck offers indoor dining that promises to transport guests back in time through elegant golden teakwood décor and historic photographs and artefacts.

There are also two exquisite private rooms each catering up to six people.

The venue opens 4pm to midnight, Monday to Friday, and noon to midnight on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.

It is easily accessible by Charoen Krung Road or the river.
