The much-anticipated "Chiang Mai Design Week (CMDW20)" will be back with many activities that will turn the city into a source of creative works from Saturday to Dec 13.

Held in collaboration with over 300 participants from different industries, including established and emerging designers, artists, craftspeople and entrepreneurs, the sixth edition of the annual festival will feature over 150 activities to build a new potential for the city and the northern region alike.

There will be six major activities running at different venues throughout Chiang Mai City, including the Three Kings Monument, TCDC Chiang Mai, Tobacco Authority of Thailand (Chiang Mai Office), and Chang Moi, San Kamphaeng, Thapae and Wat Umong communities.

The "Showcase & Exhibition" will bring creative works that reflect the thinking process and production techniques of four groups -- producers/enterprises, designers/creators, craftsmen/artisans, and public and private organisations. Highlighted will be the "CMPF Photo Exhibition", the "Sa Man Pra Jam Ban Design Exhibition", and the "Cycle Lantern" interactive exhibition.

The "POP Market" will give both old and new entrepreneurs the opportunity to sell their products ranging from furniture, home decor items, lifestyle products, accessories and food as they look to expand their business.

The "Talk & Workshop" will allow visitors to explore and exchange ideas with thinkers, designers and creators. Highlights include a workshop on "Jojo Kobe: Printmaking Demo Station By CAP Studio" on Dec 6, a talk on "Re-imagine Food Systems" on Dec 9, and a workshop on "The Sense Space: Cruising Around The City With Your Senses" on Dec 10.

The "Music" will get visitors inspired through music performances held every day at the Pop Market and at certain areas by exclusive DJs. There will also be the "Earth & Us -- Street Music and Performing Art Festival" on Dec 5-6.

The "Tour" will allow visitors to learn the stories, the thoughts and culture of local residents through an art and culture tour as well as walking tours.

The "Business Networking" will connect creators to business groups and network partnerships to expand their distribution channels.
