Sontalay's summer sophistication

SOCIAL & LIFESTYLE

Green forests graced with playful parrots, orchards filled with lemons and apples, and gardens blooming with flowers such as wild roses, hydrangeas, lilies and peonies, have been interpreted as bold and colourful prints for the debut collection of luxury leisurewear brand Sontalay.

Creative director Sanitpim Ekachai drew inspiration from summer in the south of Italy, on the Amalfi Coast and Positano, a beautiful cliffside city, and Blue Grotto, a sea cave on the island of Capri.

The luxurious yet sophisticated designs include loose flowy pieces in fabrics, ideal for Thailand's hot climate.

The kaftan, for instance, is made of Italian cotton silk, printed with green flowers, while pyjamas, made of Italian jacquard satin, feature colourful flowers in navy-white, orange and mint tones.

A French silk chiffon evening gown stands out with a vivid forest print, pronounced with a special draping technique, while a satin tiger-print dress is playfully adorned with ostrich feathers.
