Jergens' shining examples of beauty

SOCIAL & LIFESTYLE

Actress Leslie Mann together with Maude Apatow fronted Jergens' "Let Your Beautiful Shine" campaign in the US.

Instead of a mother and daughter combo, the recently-launched local campaign features three Thai beauties -- Vatanika Patamasingh Na Ayudhya, Pimpisa Chirathivat and Sonya Singha -- who endorse different Jergens moisturisers.

Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Andrew Jergens company introduced a coconut oil soap in 1882. Its classic cherry-almond lotion, launched in 1901, is now known as Jergens Original Scent.

Today, the range of moisturisers include Hydrating Coconut, Soothing Aloe, Age Defying and Ultra Healing.

Vatanika said that her skin needs the Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturiser featuring vitamins as well as Hydralucence technology, which provides longer-lasting hydration and a light-reflecting effect for more luminous skin.

The fashion designer believes that women shine, not just through external appearance but also with brains.

"I like women who are smart. Confidence makes women even more beautiful, and it is also important to be well-mannered, mindful of different cultures, and be able to adapt. We must know when to be fun or formal, and be equally good at both," she said.

On the "Let Your Beautiful Shine" tenet, Pimpisa agrees that anyone can be beautiful on the outside, but what makes one stand out is confidence.

"Some women may appear ordinary, but they have great passion and it shows in the way they carry themselves. That's what makes them unique," said the design and technical services director of Centara Hotels & Resorts.

Her preference is Daily Moisture Dry Skin Moisturiser enriched with silk proteins and citrus extracts.

Sonya goes for the Soothing Aloe Refreshing Moisturiser with cucumber extract and aloe vera.

The actress and TV host also believes in inner beauty, self confidence and positivity.

"If you are confident and feel happy about yourself, you look great in whatever you wear," Sonya said. "I used to think certain styles are better for me, but now that I've really learned to be happy with who I am, I can wear anything."
