High art accessories with intricate designs take centre stage during the "Bejeweled In Thai Style", which is running at Iconcraft on the 4th and 5th floors of Iconsiam, Charoen Nakhon Road, until April 18.

Dedicated to internationally-renowned Thai crafts which are produced with unrivalled craftsmanship, this zone has brought together a new collection of contemporary jewellery and accessories that are accented with traditional Thai identity and a selection of craft products by leading jewellery designers and craft masters from across the country.

Among the attractions are antique sets of necklaces, bracelets, earrings, pendants and belts from Chansoma, a brand belonging to craft master Weeratham Trakulngernthai, who is also the founder of Chansoma Pha Yok Thong weaving group in Surin.

Inspired by the adornments worn by people in ancient time as portrayed in the Traibhumi, or The Three Worlds -- the earliest known Thai illustrated manuscript, the flower-theme pieces are neatly designed to go with ancient Thai costumes.

Another highlight is an exquisite collection from Sarran, a famous brand by designer Sarran Youkongdee who takes inspiration from Asian women's dignity to create valuable and wearable art pieces.

Also featured are prestigious brands that are the pride of Thailand. Guru Chang Thong Boran presents rarely-seen antique gold and silver accessories in intricate designs that are perfect to be worn with Thai costumes including earrings, necklace, bangles, belt buckles and brooches.

Luck Thai comes with a fine selection of silver and golden nielloware jewellery created from the wisdom of Thai craftsmen while V by Sritavie brings unique Thai-style accessories designed for an everyday look.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to see a collection of folding handheld fans from Galerie De Himmapan, a brand that aims to preserve the uniqueness of Thai art. Inspired by HM Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, the fans are painted with familiar images as seen in other Thai mural art or based on leading characters in Thai literature.
