As a prelude to a new collection, Gucci has partnered with IM Jibin, known for his huge bear-shaped installations.
Under his "Everywhere" project, the Seoul-based pop artist creates impromptu art spaces by placing a Bear Balloon in incongruous settings all over the world.
One of his two giant Bear Balloons produced with Gucci has landed in Thailand. The 6m installation in brown and white wears a blue bow tie, mirroring the teddy motif featured in the latest Kai x Gucci collection.
A member of South Korean band EXO, Kai is a teddy fan who inspired this new selection of men's and women's ready-to-wear and accessories.
As with many of IM Jibin's artworks, the bear features a word on its face to spread a message -- in this case "HELLO", a simple, friendly greeting celebrating the pleasure of personal connection.
The Gucci Bear Balloon installation has appeared in some of Bangkok's most iconic spots including Rajadamnern Boxing Stadium, Hua Lamphong Railway Station and the National Museum.
Until April 30, it is on public display at Iconsiam's Thara Hall, to mark the launch of the Kai x Gucci collection, which will be available at the Gucci store, from this coming Monday.
