Two princesses of indie-pop -- Jay Som's Melina Duterte and Palehound's Ellen Kempner -- are featuring in a brand-new project called Bachelor. To celebrate the release of their debut album Doomin' Sun, Bachelor has announced Doomin' Sun Fest, a massive virtual livestream event on June 11 with a long list of guests joining in the fun.

Melina and Ellen said on Bachelor's social media page: "Basically we just wanna have fun celebrating our album release. We'll be playing our album Doomin' Sun and have assembled a roster of beautiful artists to share their voices and songs as well."

Doomin' Sun Fest will feature performances from a bunch of indie-rock royalty, namely Jeff Tweedy of Wilco, Japanese Breakfast, Benjamin Gibbard, Tune-Yards, Tegan and Sara, Julia Jacklin, Tank and The Bangas, and Shamir, among other great acts.

Bachelor's debut album Doomin' Sun was released on May 28 on Polyvinyl Records and features hit singles like Back Of My Hand, Anything At All, Stay In The Car and Sick Of Spiraling. The album was one of our most-anticipated of the month.

The fest will showcase Bachelor's first-ever concert and though this event is free, the duo will encourage donations for their friends at Seeding Sovereignty, an indigenous-led collective working to radicalise and disrupt colonised spaces through land, body, food sovereignty, community building, and cultural preservation. It all goes down on June 11 starting at 5am (Bangkok time) onwards, followed by a virtual afterparty inside the 3D social game Hotel Hideaway.
