Various businesses have capitalised on the ongoing nationwide vaccination through creative campaigns, which promote themselves while encouraging more people to get inoculated at the same time. Here are a few for your entertainment (and in case you want to get a freebie or a discount after getting your jabs). You need to show your vaccination certificate to redeem a freebie at these places, of course.
1. McDonald's is giving away 50,000 French fries, worth B1.75 million (B35 each), for those who have already been vaccinated at all of its branches except for the ones at the airports and delivery orders. You need to show a vaccination certificate to redeem it. The giveaway started on May 17 so I don't know if all of the French fries are gone. McDonald's also gives their staff an extra day off if they have been fully vaccinated.
2. Until June 30, seven restaurant brands under Zen Corporation Group are offering free dishes for vaccinated customers when they order at least one dish. For example, if you eat out at Zen, you'll get one plate of takoyaki, valued at B100, for free. This applies to dine-in and takeaway only.
3. Au Bon Pain is offering a 50% discount on iced lemon tea at all of their branches until June 19.
4. Until June 30, Major Cineplex is offering free popcorn or a soft drink for inoculated people. Redeem it at their box offices but you also need to show your ID card. If you hurry, you may also get an M Gen Next card for free, too.
5. Until June 30, Nitiya Kai Yang gives you a free som tam worth B70 when you order at least B100. There are 50,000 free plates of som tam available.
6. Class Cafe, a noted cafe in Korat, is giving vaccinated customers a free cuppa or juice. Must show your ID. Each branch is giving 100 free drinks per day.
7. Grab a free box of chicken balls worth B35 from Texas Chicken until June 30. Redeem it at their shops and drive-thrus.
8. Until June 30, eligible customers can buy one box of fried chicken wings at Seikai No Yamachan Thailand and get another for free. For dine-in service only.
