Inspired by silk caressing bare skin, Shu Uemura gives lips a similar sensation with a sweep of Rouge Unlimited Kinu Satin or Kinu Cream.

The lipstick and liquid lip colour were textured to feel like silk fabric, or kinu in Japanese. Visual and olfactive effects were also considered to create multisensorial pleasure when wearing the latest Rouge Unlimited items.

The Kinu Satin collection comes in 25 high-definition shades rendered by ultra-fine pigments, adapted from the ink industry via dry milling. The staying power is enhanced by advanced technology.

The scent evokes the aroma of Japanese hinoki or cypress trees. Shu Uemura says that it will transport you to a rotenburo, an open-air hot spring, deep in a peaceful Japanese forest.

Hues of nature have been recreated for Kinu Satin's stand-out shades, such as pink beige Sakura After Rain, orange Burnt Kaki, and deep-red Midnight Tsubaki.

Likewise, Kinu Cream's eight shades include the deep-red Opulent Azuki, redwood-brown Autumn Chestnut, and beige-brown Fallen Momiji with a hint of red.

Both formulas contain Tsubaki oil locally sourced from the island of Toshima where Camellia japonica are cultivated without chemicals and seeds are hand-picked using ancestral methods.

Rouge Unlimited Kinu Satin features an origami-inspired bullet.

Shu Uemura actually captures the essence of Japan in the Kinu collections.

The lipstick bullet is inspired by origami -- the Japanese art of folding paper. The sharply angled heptagonal tip allows for precise lining and filling of the lips while the ergonomically designed flat fits the shape.

Textured like silky whipped cream, the liquid lip colour features a built-in Koyubi applicator, ergonomically designed to embrace curves of the lips, with its concave and convex sides respectively delivering a semi sheer and full coverage.
