Centara Hotels & Resorts held a Royal Garuda Insignia Ceremony recently at Centara Reserve Samui, the flagship property of the Centara-owned luxury brand, ahead of its opening on Dec 1.
Presided over by Suthikiati Chirathivat, chairman of the board of Centara Hotels & Resorts, the ceremony saw the installation of the insignia, an emblem of a mythological bird-man bestowed as a Royal Warrant and mark of honourable distinction for recipients.
"When Centara opened our first hotel in Bangkok nearly 40 years ago, we set new standards in hospitality with Thailand's very first integrated hotel and shopping destination. Today, we begin a new chapter of personalised luxury as we continue to redefine the guest experience and push the envelope on luxury storytelling with the global debut of our Centara Reserve brand," said Suthikiati.
In recognition of the company's good standing and contributions to the Kingdom, His Majesty the King Rama X graciously bestowed upon Central Plaza Hotel PCL the Royal Garuda Insignia, making Centara the first hotel company in Thailand to be honoured with a Royal Warrant of Appointment.
