Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit is back with their second edition of their European Christmas Market, a whimsical recreation of the iconic Christmas Market in Strasbourg. Strasbourg also happens to be the home of the first Sofitel hotel in the world.
For everyone who has missed travelling home to meet family & friends or simply travel to explore a new destination, this unique event offers a respite.
This year, Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit has brought on board over 20 local businesses offering children’s toys, jewellery, macramé products, handmade candles, gourmet products, wellness, wines & spirits. The idea for the event is a result of the hotel wanting to support local businesses in these unprecedented times and offers them a platform to reach a niche audience. The number of brands who participated last year in the Christmas Market was 7. Sofitel will host this European Christmas Market every Saturday until Christmas Eve. While you enjoy shopping at the hotel also has classic Christmas treats like Yule Log Cake Slice, Candied Apples, Turkey & Cranberry Bagels, Stollen, Hot Dog, and some yum mulled wine. The menu features all the classic treats to relish on a cool & breezy afternoon.
Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit has again partnered with ‘Wannawit School’ — a local school to lead their Christmas Carols during the festive events. In the spirit of Christmas, the hotel offers these children a unique opportunity to experience the joy of Christmas. The hotel has appointed a music teacher who has taught them carols. On days of Christmas Market, the school children and their parents are treated to a special meal at the hotel. The hotel also gives each child a special Christmas gift. Most of these kids had not even heard any of the carols that they sing so soulfully today.
The true meaning of Christmas is in giving and to honour that the hotel is hosting a ‘Festive Raffle’ that all guests can participate in. All proceeds from this charity will go towards supporting Phayathai Babies Home an orphanage that works towards the upliftment of children. Every guest who stays dines, or visits the hotel from 4-23 December will be able to participate in the ‘Festive Raflle’ and stands a chance to win exciting prizes that include staycation, spa & dining experiences.
