After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the famous Thailand Tourism Festival with five tourism villages located across Lumphini Park on Rama IV Road will return from tomorrow to Feb 22. It will run daily from noon to 9pm on weekdays and 11am to 9pm on weekends.
Organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the 40th edition of the festival will bring outstanding landmarks, cultural heritage, local delicacies and the best products from the five regions to the five tourism villages, each of which comes with a unique colour theme.
Presented in its distinctive navy blue colour, the "Northern Village, North Nostalgia" will introduce a new series of attractions such as Mok Tawan Mountain in Tak; Rong Ruea Ta Muen Mountain in Phitsanulok; and Wat Luang Khun Win in Chiang Mai.
The "Northeastern Village: Isan In Love" comes with an ivory colour to highlight Roi Et Tower in Roi Et, Phu Phra in Loei, Three World's Naga in Mukdahan, Floating City and Underworld in Nakhon Ratchasima, and the Elephant's World in Surin.
The "Central Region Village: Chic Central" is in crimson colour and will see white replicas of traditional Thai houses, the wooden gate of Ban Rachan, a salt farm and rice paddies while the "Eastern Village: East At Ease" will feature an emerald-colour theme of highly photogenic displays, including a floating garden, a replica of Trat's Laem Ngop Lighthouse, and a cliff climbing activity.
The silver-coloured "Southern Village: Savoury South" will present the region's folk performances such as manorah, nang talung shadow puppetry, and hulu likay, unique cooking, plus replicas of outstanding landmarks including Songkhla City Gate.
Another attraction is the "Bangkok's Street Food" zone, which will bring a wide variety of Thai and international cuisines from the city's leading restaurants and eateries.
Also, expect to see cultural shows and music performances daily at the centre stage and travel in the Metaverse virtual world at the TAT Travel Tech corner.
