Officine Universelle Buly, a French fragrance and cosmetics brand, made its way to Bangkok with the opening of its first flagship store in Thailand, which is situated on the 1st floor of Central Chidlom. This marks the start of its new chapter in retail market experience in Asia.

To illustrate how Bangkok is a vibrant centre where innovation meets tradition via art and creativity, the brand offers a space-time break set in the 1950s, allowing customers to appreciate some French refinements from scented candles to curiosities, water-based skin perfumes and natural care protocols.

It blends the graces of modern innovation to ensure the next level of exceptional care, which is recreated under the seal of the organic beauty secrets passed down through centuries. Customers may wander through historical care and nature thanks to the marble-like countertops, priceless woods and glass windows.

The interior design incorporates and sublimates local decorative motifs through paintings and shellac, to evoke the spirit of Le Corbusier with its rigid, rectangular lines. The incorporation of the "Tropical Modernism" architectural style from the past is a playful homage to Bangkok, which sits just 1m above sea level.

"The special atmosphere in this Officine is a tribute to Tiang Chirathivat, who founded the Central Group. After World War II, Thailand became a reference point, where the local culture embraced the height of new thinking and boldness in terms of architecture. The Officine at Central Chidlom is rooted in this era where modernism was a symbol of renewal, where everything could be instigated. Just like our new adventure with Officine Universelle Buly," said artistic director Ramdane Touhami.

To ensure that each of your gifts is special, the store also offers exclusive services and customisation like an engraving and gift-wrapping service using vintage Journal de l'Empire or vibrant luxury papers. An embossing service replicates the golden beauty and originality of a seal and calligraphy service brings back hand-written correspondence in daily life to create an elegant letter.
