Dine out with Dad

In commemoration of the birth anniversary of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Dec 5 has long been honoured as "Father's Day" in Thailand. To celebrate your dad, we give you a choice of places offering special deals for fathers!

Centara Grand at CentralWorld

All superheroes don’t wear capes, some we just call "dad". Treat your superhero to a special feast on Father’s Day at Centara Grand at CentralWorld. Ventisi Restaurant offers an Italian-Thai buffet lunch featuring a variety of seafood on ice, scrumptious appetisers and salads, house-made bread, delicious soups, mouthwatering mains, Thai favourites and Italian classics. End your meal with a selection of international cheeses and an array of decadent desserts, pastries and ice creams. The sumptuous buffet includes free-flow alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and is priced at B1,999++ per person. Come four, dad eats free (come four pay three) from noon to 3pm.

Alternatively, Dynasty Restaurant offers a lavish all-you-can-eat dim sum with a choice of starters, soups, roasted duck “Peking style”, fried rice, noodles, desserts, and free-flow Chinese tea for B988 nett per person (in a two-hour limit). Four people bookings ensures dad gets a special gift. From noon to 10.30pm. Call 02-100-6255 or email diningcgcw@chr.co.th.

Meliá Chiang Mai

Celebrate Father’s Day with an exquisite four-course set menu at Mai Restaurant & Bar and some pampering at Yhi Spa. The sky-high restaurant will host a set dinner priced at B1,999 nett per person, which includes a glass of selected red or white house wine. From Dec 3-5, Yhi Spa will offer a one-hour gentleman's facial for B1,177 nett per person from 10am–10pm. Call 052-090-699 or email reservation.chiangmai@melia.com.

Banyan Tree Samui

Fathers of Koh Samui can unite at the Lobby Bar of Banyan Tree Samui during Dec 4-10, when a free cold local beer will be served up to dads — and dads-to-be — as their second drink to celebrate their day of recognition. The Lobby Bar also serves cocktails and a selection of Scotch and other fine whiskeys. Meanwhile, at Saffron, guests are invited to join in a Father’s Day southern Thai cuisine set meal for B1,800 nett per person any evening during the same week.
