A collection of non-figurative artworks created during the past two decades by Fasang Navaaran are showcased during "The Journey" at Richard Koh Fine Art, until March 25.
Renowned for using natural substances as materials for his mixed-media works, paintings and installations, the 56-year-old artist combines colours, lines and forms to create a minimalistic yet fully complete work of art.
Perceiving beauty in its simplicity, he allows found objects such as discarded paper, boxes and pieces of fabric to reach their full potential. Those simple items and colour hues are constructed and arranged into geometric forms, underlining a harmonious composition in his work.
The exhibition sheds light on his artistic practices, from his early professional career to the present. Viewers will follow each significant step of his discoveries and development and witness his persistence and drive to employ any available and suitable means and materials.
Most of the works on show are from his latest series, while others are works that can be traced back to the early 2000s.
Fasang has participated in many group and solo exhibitions in Thailand and overseas. He currently lives and works in Nakhon Ratchasima.
Richard Koh Fine Art is located on the 9th floor of Peterson Building, Sukhumvit Road, between sois 26 and 28; open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 7pm.
