Sangsuk and Supapitch Pithayanukul organised a magnificent event to welcome Lt Col Ladda Tammy Duckworth, a member of the Illinois State Senate, to Thailand at Bangkok's fine dining restaurant Royal Osha.

Thai traditional puppetry took the stage to entertain a group of special guests such as Anutin Charnvirakul, Chadchart Sittipunt, Tom Kruesopon, Vikrom Kromadit, Prathip Chiaravanond, Somporn Juangroongruangkit, Naphalai Areesorn, Chanadda Pittayasiri, Patpong and Preeyamon Thanavisuth, Vinit Lertrattanachai and Louise Taechaubol.

The Michelin Guide has recommended Royal Osha for five years in a row, and executive chef Vichit Mukura is in charge of creating contemporary Thai culinary delights with a touch of elegance, using meticulously selected seasonal ingredients from around the world and local Thai herbs to provide a distinctive aroma and flavour.

For this occasion, they creatively devised a four-course lunch to give a wide variety of experiences in a single mouthful. It started with kanom bueng (a Thai crispy pancake) cooked over charcoal with scallops and caviar. The next dish was Thai coconut and galangal plum shrimp soup, which delicately balances the sweet, sour, spicy and creamy elements of traditional Thai cuisine. After that, crispy chicken or red tilapia spring rolls with fresh chilli sauce were served, enjoyed with fragrant red jasmine rice.

A range of delectable sweets brought the gastronomic voyage to a close.
