Masterpieces by Vincent van Gogh now make a fashion statement following a collaboration between Royal Ivy Regatta and Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
The Dutch artist painted multiple versions of his iconic Sunflowers. The Royal Ivy Regatta X Van Gogh Museum collection presents Sunflowers through a shift dress, a long-sleeved shirt, a graphic Tee and accessories.
Van Gogh initially painted himself because he couldn't afford a model. His self-portraits wearing a straw or a grey felt hat appear on menswear.
Landscape With Houses captures the picturesque countryside of France's Auvers-sur-Oise. Thatched houses were drawn with wavy outlines while the light blue sky is in water colour. This painting has been reproduced as a print on a cropped bra top, tie waist shirt, cardigan and other women's pieces as well as men's knit Tee and Hawaiian shirt.
Symbolising new life, almond trees blossom in early spring. Van Gogh worked on this subject resulting in Almond Blossom, which branches out on a scarf, men's knit Tee, women's blouses and drawstring pants.
The Wheatfield series includes an oil on canvas painted from Van Gogh's hospital room. Women's shirt, halterneck blouse and midi dress feature the resulting Wheatfield With A Reaper, which reflects on the eternal cycle of nature and the transience of life.
