Spanish restaurant Uno Mas at Centara Grand at CentralWorld has a new weekday set lunch menu curated by chef Roberto Gonzalez Alonso. The menu features three exquisite courses made with the freshest and finest ingredients. Guests can choose from various starters, main courses, and desserts, each of which showcases the unique flavours of Spanish cuisine. The menu offers five starters to choose from, including Empanada de bonito Gallega (Galician puff pastry filled with tuna, tomato and capsicum), Huevos revueltos (scrambled organic egg with confit leeks and prawns) and Pastel de cabracho (red snapper terrine). The solo exhibition by Yoshiki Hase explores his fascination with sculptures and he photographed them in natural settings. Hase said, "Statues are not natural objects, nor do they perfectly shape the human figure, but they seem to bring ‘life’ to their surroundings and to the landscape, even if they are incomplete, lacking a head or a body part. Humans try to control nature as if it were their own, but at the same time, it is humans who find something divine in that same nature and seek a spiritual belonging to it. Human actions are full of contradictions." By photographing this fictional landscape, he feels as if he peeks into a time when humans are able to maintain their serenity and dignity, and at the same time, are not so arrogant. Despite the world becoming increasingly globalised, with Western nations at the forefront of cultural influence, artists continue to create works that reflect their cultural identities. This is evident in the photography series "Portraits Of Áo Dài - Hope For Peace And Love" by the award-winning Vietnamese fashion photographer Chiron Duong. Duong's photography series captures the essence of the Áo Dài, the iconic national dress of Vietnamese women. It also reflects his childhood memories of seeing his grandmother and mother wearing the dress, which they always looked elegant and proud. These memories and experiences were hidden in Duong's subconscious, but they ultimately inspired him to create photography that is both authentic and unique. His images also represent a new era for Vietnam, one that is free from war and filled with hope, peace, and love. The opening reception is on Nov 18 from 5pm.
