'Vijit Chao Phraya 2023' starts today

The month-long visual and cultural extravaganza will take place at eight riverside spots

'Vijit Chao Phraya 2023' starts today

Tourism Authority of Thailand, in collaboration with partners in private and public sectors, will bring back the spectacular light show and cultural performances to eight hotspots along the Chao Phraya River from Dec 1-31.

• At the Rama VIII Bridge, a 3D laser show with light and sound will light up the iconic bridge six times per day at 7pm, 7.30pm, 8pm, 8.30pm, 9pm and 9.30pm. Each time lasts five minutes. 

• At the Santi Chai Prakan Park on Phra Arthit Road, you can catch a cultural performance titled "Miracle Of Thailand" on Dec 1-2, 7-9, 15-16, 22-23 and 29-30. It takes place four times per day at 7.30pm, 8pm, 8.30pm and 9pm.     

Wat Arun's stupa will be a venue for light and sound performances throughout December six times a day at 7pm, 7.30pm, 8pm, 8.30pm, 9pm and 9.30pm. Each time lasts five minutes. The temple will also host cultural performances retelling the legend of Wat Chaeng Giant on Dec 1-2, 7-9, 15-16, 22-23 and 29-30. It will take place three times a day at 7.20pm, 7.40pm and 8.20pm. 

• Projection mapping 3D and water curtain with light and sound will happen at Wichai Prasit Fort six times a day at 7.15pm, 7.45pm, 8.15pm, 8.45pm, 9.15pm and 9.45pm. Each time lasts five minutes. 

Phuttha Yodfa Bridge, aka Memorial Bridge or Saphan Phut, will have light and sound shows from Dec 1-31, six times a day at 7pm, 7.30pm, 8pm, 8.30pm, 9pm and 9.30pm. Each time lasts five minutes. *The fireworks with the shows will take place once per day on Dec 1-2, 7-9, 15-16, 22-23 and 29-30 at 8.45pm. 

• Projection mapping with light and sound take place at River City Bangkok throughout December six times a day at 7pm, 7.45pm, 8.15pm, 8.45pm, 9.15pm and 9.45pm. Each time last five minutes. 

• The light and sound shows at Iconsiam take place throughout December three times a day at 6.30pm, 8pm and 9pm. Each time lasts 10 minutes. 

Asiatique The Riverfront will host drone performances on three Saturdays, Dec 9, 16 and 23, at 7.50pm.
