As a part of the Thailand Winter Festival, the lavish Vijit Chao Phraya is making a comeback to Bangkok for its second edition and runs through the end of the month to support businesses that offer nocturnal winter activities like dinner cruises, riverside restaurants and boat tours along the river.

Organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Chao Phraya River will be illuminated with a 3D laser show, light and sound display, projection mappings and magnificent cultural performances that celebrate Thailand's rich history and cultural heritage.

This year, the event's itineraries encompass Bangkok's seven renowned riverbank locations, allowing guests to witness unique architectural arts and the quaint way of the riverside communities after dark. Under the concept of "Vijit Light Of Siam", Rama VIII Bridge will offer a cutting-edge laser and drone light show at 7pm to depict iconic scenes from Thai mythology such as Ramasoon chasing Mekhala.

Located at the mouth of Klong Bangkok Yai, Wichai Prasit Fort will display a five-minute water curtain with light and sound projection mapping from 7.15-9.50pm. Spectators can envision striking vistas from when King Narai the Great erected the fort. Later, King Taksin made Thon Buri the new capital, making the site strategically important.

From 7.20-8.20pm, Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan will morph itself into a lively entertainment venue to recount the story of the giant of Wat Chaeng Thepsathit on both banks of the Chao Phraya River. Under the concept of "Vijit Dawn Of The River", it includes a series of five-minute projection mapping displays, light and sound shows, and cultural performances. Not far away, Santichaiprakan Park will offer a stage for a performance of Miracle Of Thailand from 7.30-9pm, while Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke Bridge will have a five-minute "Illumination Light Show And Effects" at 8.45pm. There will also be spectacular firework displays from Dec 15-16, Dec 22–23 and Dec 29–30.

Additionally, River City Bangkok, Iconsiam and Asiatique the Riverfront will also join the event with a range of projection mapping shows, light and sound shows, and drone light shows from 7-9.45pm.
