Afternoon tea / Shangri-La Bangkok / Until March 31

A delectable selection of strawberry-infused treats crafted by executive pastry Chef Alex Hekimov comprises the “Japanese Strawberry Afternoon Tea” at the Shangri-La Bangkok’s Lobby Lounge. From freshly baked scones to mouthwatering cakes, each creation is a celebration of the finest Japanese strawberries. New menu / Celadon 

Celadon, the Thai restaurant at The Sukhothai Bangkok, has launched a new seven-course tasting menu. Chef Rosarin “Rin” Sripathum showcases the diverse flavours and regional specialties of Thailand. From the lush jungles of Chiang Rai to the bustling streets of Bangkok, each dish is a celebration of authentic Thai home cooking at its finest. The full experience menu features an array of tantalising dishes, including: Marinated Deep-fried pork with blue crab, garlic glutinous rice, ginger, shallot, chili, and peanut; Golden puff beef massaman curry; Chiang Rai style spicy smoked duck breast with dried chili paste and aromatic herbs; Clear soup yellowtail fish with roasted shallot, garlic, green mango, turmeric, and coconut vinegar juice; Grilled river prawn with tamarind-shrimp paste dipping sauce and crunchy vegetable; Jungle curry free range chicken with chili, lemongrass, and fresh cardamom; and Crispy coconut shell with kaffir lime marmalade and muskmelon coconut milk sorbet. Fine sake / Akira Back / March 15

Akira Back Bangkok at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park will host an exclusive five-course set dinner paired with the finest sake from Masumi Brewery, which has been operating since 1662. The event will include a meeting to introduce and explain the different types of sake with Katsuhiko Miyasaka, the heir to Masumi Brewery. Diners will then be treated to Akira Back’s signature Tuna pizza, an indulgent creation that features fresh black truffle, white truffle oil, umami aioli and micro shiso, accompanied with a glass of Masumi Junmai Daiginjo Sanka, which is inspired by the sanka mountain flower and renowned for its fresh fragrance and flavour. This is followed by a succulent Hokkaido scallop in a shell with kimchi butter, crispy onion and Parmesan, complemented by Masumi Junmai Ginjo Shiro White, a light rice wine with gentle sweetness and lingering umami. Pan-seared Chilean sea bass with yuzu miso and Japanese shishito is paired with Masumi Junmai Ginjo Kuro Black, which strikes a balance of savoury depth and dry clarity. The  main course, Japanese Wagyu A5, is served with root vegetables, potato purée and wasabi butter sauce, accompanied with Masumi Yamahai Junmai Ginjo Aka Red, which is bright on the surface yet deep and complex with subtle aromas. This gastronomic odyssey then concludes with an AB Cigar — an indulgent chocolate and cinnamon dessert, paired with Masumi Junmai Kaya Brown, which exudes aromas of brown rice and cream for a sweet and savoury sensation. Pizza collab / F*nkytown / March 10

“F*nkytown Presents: Leopard Crust x Chef Brad Carter Rooftop Takeover” is the bar’s first chef takeover featuring two Gozney ambassadors: Feng Chen of Leopard Crust and chef Brad Carter from  Carters in the UK. The collab will be on March 10, with launch the new Gozney Arc & Arc XL pizza ovens. Chen combines Italian pizza-making traditions and diverse cultural influences with her craft. Her signature sourdough pizzas, adorned with distinctive leopard spots on the crusts, pay homage to unique ingredients from her experiences worldwide. Chef Carter prioritises sustainability in his culinary endeavours, which reflects his commitment to quality and innovation. Joining forces, the Gozney ambassadors are set to deliver a unique collaboration, firing up limited pizzas featuring Brad's charcuterie, tamarind jam, mozzarella with tomato and Parmigiano sauce or nduja crumble, clams, kaffir lime oil, stracciatella and basil on a romesco vodka sauce base in the latest Arc and Arc XL pizza ovens and unique sides to go with them like flame-grilled scallops in sea urchin butter. New restaurant / Man Ho Bistro at Erawan Bangkok

Nestled in the stylish corridors of the newly refurbished Erawan Bangkok, Man Ho Bistro introduces a fresh and innovative concept to the city's culinary landscape. As an extension of Man Ho Chinese Restaurant at JW Marriott Bangkok, the new bistro brings a blend of cherished Chinese culinary traditions with a dash of modern flair to the table. The restaurant’s interior design reflects its namesake, blending contemporary elegance with nostalgic touches. Earthy tones, sleek lines and swatches of colour create a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for intimate gatherings or lively celebrations. The entrance boasts an eye-catching bar in wooden tones, while the the open kitchen creates an opportunity for interaction and conversation between chefs and diners. A range of private dining rooms offer a secluded space for special occasions, with the largest one fitted with live cooking stations. Man Ho Bistro offers a culinary journey through the heart of mainland China, featuring comfort dishes inspired by the vibrant flavours of Sichuan and Shandong provinces. Signature dishes include Char siu BBQ Australian beef rib, Steamed cod fish with preserved radish, black beans and soy sauce, Wok-fried egg crab with sweet potato noodles, Crispy scallop dumplings wrapped with mashed taro topped with caviar, and Artisan avocado ice cream, flaked almonds and pumpkin seeds. Complementing the food are Cha Toddy, a comforting blend of Chinese whisky, honey ginger, and citrus; the aromatic spirit-forward Ganbei a mix of whisky, sweet vermouth, Grand Marnier, Aromatic Bitters; and the Chrysanthemum Fashioned, a unique floral concoction.

New branch / Pizza Massilia 

Massilia, the restaurant known for its artisanal Italian pizza, has opened a new branch in Sathon. Massilia @ Kenn’s & Co in Sathon 7 alley, serves as a casual dining and social gathering hub. It offers a cozy and charming environment a wide variety of food and beverage throughout the day. Additionally, Massilia has expanded horizons into Southeast Asia and has opened in the Jakarta Gatot Subroto area. It also was recently awarded the best pizzeria in Thailand and the seventh best pizzeria in Asia by 50 Top Pizza Apac 2024. The event is highly regarded worldwide for celebrating outstanding pizza craftsmanship in the Asia-Pacific area. It brings together top pizzerias from Japan, Asia and Oceania to compete for prestigious awards. 

Roast goose / Kam's Roast Bangkok

Despite having opened on the seventh floor of CentralWorld for three years, Kam's Roast Bangkok recently started selling its famous roast goose last month due to strict protocols for sourcing the right birds. Kam's Roast goose needs a two-days advance reservation. The geese are available as a whole and not sold partially.

Bar takeover / Scarlett Bangkok x Southside Parlor / March 14

Bobby Kim and Alameen, owners and head bartenders of Southside Parlor are bringing Southern flavours spiked with Seoul to the heart of Bangkok. Named "A Seoulful Takeover", this guest shift is done in collaboration with Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Landing at No.37 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2023 list, Southside’s unique approach to blending Korean flavours with Southern hospitality make it an experience unlike anywhere else. With a passion for utilising local and seasonal ingredients that give guests a true taste of Seoul, the one-night only event will showcase three creations by the bartender duo. St. Patrick's Day / Beer Republic / March 13-17

Immerse in a vibrant sea of green festivities at Beer Republic, which will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day from March 13-17. Jamaica in Phuket / The Slate Phuket / March 16

The popular “Vibrations Festival” is returning to The Slate Phuket for a weekend of immersive entertainment and feasting that brings the spirit of Jamaica to life. Celebrating art, fashion, music,\ and creativity in all its forms, guests will enjoy an Isan feast, including grilled pork, sticky rice, som tum and an Asian jambalaya, a concert by Thailand’s most successful reggae act Job To Do, body painting by visual artist Trey Hurst, a fashion show by renowned designer Eric Raisina, a fire show, free-flight bird show and dancing under the stars to DJ Marcos. Central Pattana has launched the "She Inspires Me" campaign to celebrate International Women's Day, featuring inspiring messages from female figures in various fields, as well as privileges for women at Central malls through participating credit cards until March 17. Drama night / The Sukhothai Bangkok / March 22

Theatre enthusiasts should mark March 22 on their calendars as The Sukhothai Bangkok will host "Drama Night — Sherlock Holmes". Against the backdrop of a war-torn era, Holmes, brought to life by Nigel Miles-Thomas, navigates through a labyrinth of emotions and untold stories. Reflecting on his deep affection for Dr Watson, Holmes revisits past cases involving iconic figures like Irene Adler and Professor Moriarty, uncovering hidden truths and confronting a shocking secret. Group exhibition / True Digital Park / March 9 to June 9

“Mythical Dream Trio Exhibition” by artists Cheese Arnon, Bluepalete and Kratai Dudu, curated by Madskills, will be on display at True Digital Park from March 9 to June 9. TDPK Studio has been transformed into a habitat for mythical creatures such as unicorns, gryphons, Pegasuses and phoenixes. The three young artists tell the story of triumph over challenges and unbreakable spirits through these creatures that the younger generation can relate to as they follow their dreams.

Manga exhibition / CentralWorld / Until May 12

The “One Piece The Great Era of Piracy Exhibition Asia Tour” takes place at CentralWorld until May 12. Join Luffy and his pirates on their adventures, which commemorates the 25th anniversary of One Piece. Hong Kong flavours / Cathay Pacific x Duddell’s 

As part of its “Hong Kong Flavours” promotion, Cathay Pacific has collaborated with Michelin-starred Duddell’s. The restaurant will showcase authentic Cantonese and regional Chinese specialties along with refined classic comfort dishes to customers travelling in First and Business class on selected long-haul flights departing from Hong Kong. First class passengers can begin their culinary journey by enjoying an appetiser of Crystal pork terrine with black vinegar, which is inspired by a specialty dish from Zhenjiang in China’s Jiangsu province. Choose from a variety of main courses, like Sautéed abalone and chicken with Sichuan pepper and crispy greens, Duddell's take on a traditional Chiu Chow dish. The Steamed cod fillets with Chinese ham and shiitake mushrooms presents velvety steamed cod layered with slices of Chinese ham and mushrooms, creating a luxurious texture and combination of flavours. The meal concludes with the Black sesame tart with tofu ice cream, which draws inspiration from the popular Chinese sweet black sesame soup. The Brit Collection from Jo Malone London includes: Ginger Beer, a spicy woody scent inspired by the vibrant aroma of a quintessentially British beverage. The lively freshness of natural ginger contrasting with the comforting warmth of cinnamon and compelling roasted oak. Tops in collaboration with Unicef has launched the "Box Of Life" project aimed at saving children's lives by donating for a good cause and getting a bag to show for it. Customers can be part of providing essential aid to millions of children in Thailand and across the globe, who are grappling with diverse global crises, including warfare, pandemics, climate change and economic challenges. There are three types of boxes. The Survival Kit comprises water purification tablets for more than 9,000 litres of safe water, 37 sachets of life-saving therapeutic food and two thermal blankets for children facing cold climates. The Hygiene Kit features indispensable items for daily living like water containers, soap, water purification tablets and more.
