Le Bristol Paris

Le Bristol Paris’ chef chocolatier Johan Giacchetti is igniting chocolate cravings like never before. He is bringing the fire in the form of an egg-shaped flame. In his dreamy atelier, where warm and bewitching aromas of cocoa and spices train the senses, the artisan surpasses the limits of ganache and praline.

Fire, symbol of passion, meets L’Oeuf Flamme, Le Bristol’s Easter egg of excellence. Its delicate shell is a flame of 70% Venezuelan dark chocolate sculpted into spirals of yellow and red iridescence seemingly shaped by the wind. The Easter egg transports the taster from a dense tropical forest to the gentle caress of the desert, marrying the intense and buttery notes of dark chocolate with pistachio expressed in praline and delicately enveloped in orange blossom caramel. Fleeting, fragile and precious, this flame burns for us.

The limited-edition egg will be available at L’Épicerie des Ateliers du Bristol until April 7. Visit the hotel’s website.

Hotel Plaza Athénée, Paris

Dorchester Collection’s Hotel Plaza Athénée in Paris, France, has created a new egg to mark this year’s Easter celebrations. The “Easter Jewel” is a collaboration between the hotel’s executive pastry chef and World Pastry Champion Angelo Musa and pastry chef Elisabeth Hot, with guidance from Jean Imbert.

Presented as a jewel on a velvet cushion, the chocolate egg at Hotel Plaza Athénée is crafted from 43% Madagascar milk chocolate and has a scarlet exterior that mirrors the iconic colour of the hotel. To add an additional celebratory element the pastry team has applied touches of gold leaf to the egg’s exterior.

Creating an element of theatre and illusion the cushion is made from 70% Madagascar dark chocolate and has a rounded and soft structure. Concealed within its core are small gianduja rocks, fashioned to resemble treasure. Each Easter Jewel is hand crafted and therefore totally unique, with no two identical creations.

The Easter egg can be picked up at La Galerie de l'Hôtel Plaza Athénée, from March 20 to April 3. Orders must be placed at least 72 hours before the desired date. Visit the hotel’s website.
