Dozens of gigantic inflatable kites will be flying above the 3,000m² lakeside of Muang Thong Thani during Kite On The Lake, which will kick off on Friday and run daily from 4pm to 10pm until Sunday.

Held for the first time by Impact Exhibition Management, this will be the biggest inflatable kite festival in Bangkok as it will feature more than 50 giant kites of various shapes and sizes from Thaitan Kite Team Thailand.

Highlights will be a 24m-long manta ray-shaped kite, trilobite-shaped and octopus-shaped kites measuring 20m in length, and a 16m-long blue whale-shaped kite. Other colourful kites, ranging from 5m to 15m in size, are in the shapes of a bear, dog, elephant, fox, horse, goldfish, koi fish, whale shark, Hercules beetle and baby giant Hayak.

Also presented will be smaller kites in different shapes like cow, dolphin, orca and whale; kites with creative graphic designs; and a huge Thaitan tent for visitors to relax.

An array of activities will be arranged including kite-making and painting workshops, kite-flying lessons, kite-flying demonstrations, a stone accessory-making workshop by Gluay Hommm Hand and an exhibition of inspirational and motivational quotes by Thai artist Prapassorn "Teayii" Kanjanasoot.

There will also be a flea market featuring more than 90 booths offering various items from summer outfits, second-hand clothing, accessories, gifts, home decorative items, handmade products, vintage items, antiques to snacks, street food, and beverages by local breweries. Participating food shops and restaurants will be Tomato X, Yes I'm Fries, Oppa Korea, Satay Phra Nakhon, 24 Midnight Salmon, Salmon Farm, Good Day, Rith Pad Thai, Nue Yang Baan Nue, JJ Grill, Eggs Rock The World and more.
