The high-brow cuisine of this boisterously homely yet mystical restaurant is the brainchild of Australian chef Jess Barnes, featuring carefully sourced seasonal produce with a rough and straightforward presentation that matches the restaurant's unorthodox setting.

Don't miss the day's croquettes and aioli (100 baht for a two-piece order), savoury duck waffle with duck-leg confit, pate and piccalilli relish (260 baht), the steamed Chinese bun with confit of pork belly, slaw, shrimp mayo and pickled cucumber (160 baht) and lamb spare ribs with sorrel puree and pickled mushroom (350 baht).

Reservations are a must. Taking public transportation is highly recommended.

Open Tuesday-Sunday, 7pm-midnight. Parking space is very limited along the soi. Visa and MasterCard accepted.

With three spectacular private chambers - the 20-seat Robert Mondavi hall, the attic-like Penfolds room and the Moet & Chandon underground cellar - this four-month-old wine bistro introduces Bangkokians to another milestone in wine appreciation, combining the vivacity of contemporary wine bars with the high-minded gratification of premium wine.

Popular dishes include pan-fried Toulouse foie gras with mixed berry sauce (620 baht), sauteed angel hair pasta with fresh sea urchin roe, mentaiko and garlic olive oil (950 baht), duck confit with mashed truffle-potato and honey thyme sauce (690 baht) and roasted Canadian lobster with lobster foam (1,750 baht).

The bar boast 1,500 wine labels with as many as 32 options of wine by the glass ready to be served on a daily basis.

This 300-seater that occupies a historic Thai villa in the small soi a few steps away from Asok BTS station combines a fine restaurant with an American sports tavern, cocktail bar and cigar room under an inspiring concept to honour the legendary American author Ernest Hemingway.

The food depicts Hemingway's enthusiasm for gastronomy. Recommend dishes include Hemingway's tapas platter, which comprises Spanish meatballs, ham and egg croquetas and chilli-salted calamari with tartar, pan-seared Hokkaido scallops with cauliflower puree (350 baht), sea bass with absinthe and oyster broth (450 baht) and duck breast with Kirsch sauce (450 baht). For desserts, try sour cream cheesecake with raspberry sorbet (200 baht).
