Samsung’s flagship S24 Ultra phone is now on sale with “Galaxy AI”, which includes live translation, generative photo editing, circle to search and text summary on top of their already feature-loaded phone.
Yeah, you can make calls, chat, take photos and record videos like any other phone. But Samsung is well known for throwing in way more functions and customisation than you could ever want.
Making calls? Why stop there — add spam call screening, add dancing avatars while you make or take calls. Why not add an AI live translation feature for 11 languages? (Thai included). Taking photos? Sure, the phone automatically detects prominent objects and makes them the focal point (perfect for people who only press the shoot button without focusing on anything), or moves objects or people after the fact with the phone’s generative AI photo editing feature.
Are you too lazy to read a whole article? Read it with Samsung’s browser app and press the star icon at the bottom of the screen to let the phone’s AI summarise or translate the whole text for you.

On top of that, the S24 Ultra lets you connect to any compatible monitor and have something that rivals Microsoft Windows on the screen. The S Pen stylus is still here tucked away in the bottom left of the phone, ready for art, notes, signatures, AR doodles and much more. There are loads of customisation options to make the phone truly yours.
You’ll also be getting the best zoom capability on any phone. Taking photos is very snappy without much delay, and the S24 Ultra comes with the toughest and brightest screen, and the fastest computing speed of any Samsung on the market now.
Samsung has had the same design since their S22 series, with pretty much nothing on the back side of the phone apart from five lenses on the top left of the body. I even managed to fit one of my old protection cases (with some slight knife work) onto the phone quite nicely. I would prefer something more unique to differentiate the S24 from the previous Ultra models, but hey, Apple has done this for seven years in a row and gotten away with it, so why not?
The front screen is now flat instead of having side curves like the previous year’s Ultra. Personally, I prefer the side curves for their unique premium look and the more comfortable grip. But I can also see why so many people prefer flat screens, since it’s way easier to find screen and case protection, and have real edge of screen use.
The phone comes with anti-glare screen coating which is noticeably effective at reducing light reflection. This helps people with eye strain. The screen is also slightly matte, making gliding your finger a little smoother. A boon for gamers.
The battery life is neck and neck with the iPhone 15 Pro Max, crowned the battery king since it can last 12 hours of continuous (non-gaming) use. Android phones have been mocked by iPhone users for years, not any more. The S24 Ultra is slightly lighter than previous top phones due to the use of titanium, but not by much.
The major benefit of this phone is seven years of guaranteed updates, which even exceeds iPhones, a much better screen under bright sunlight, slightly better cameras and way better object detection while taking photos. If your phone is older than two or three years, and you’re not interested in the new folding models, Samsung’s S24 Ultra will be a major upgrade in your life.
