In January, the last piece of the puzzle for the full opening of Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort was completed. The resort, which already features adjacent BDMS Wellness Clinic, now boasts the BDMS Connect Center, which is dedicated to hosting Mice (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions). The three components are collectively called "BDMS Wellness Campus" and are valued at a whopping US$400 million.
The 211 rooms at Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort are divided among three wings, each offering a different ambience. The main wing where guests enter feels luxurious yet contemporary, featuring various artworks and a view of the garden and the swimming pool. Harkening back to the original design of the resort, the white wing has this classic feel with arches and pops of green from hanging plant boxes while the open hallways allow guests to stay on a higher floor to look down to the ground floor. The third wing features a huge vertical garden and clear glass fences, giving a modern yet relaxing feel while Thai restaurant Khum Hom by chef Ian Kittichai is tucked away within this wing (more on it later). All wings feel very spacious and bright, thanks to the skylights that are four storeys from the ground.
Being a wellness resort, you can expect small details in selected room types (from nine available), that can enhance your stay. These include iHome sound therapy and a pillow menu to ensure restful sleep. An in-room exercise kit consisting of a yoga mat, a fitness ball and a resistance band is provided with a pre-recorded coaching programme on the TV. Of course, your mini-bar is stocked with healthy drinks and snacks.
Health consciousness also extends to its F&B offerings, especially at Nourish where guests get to enjoy an extensive breakfast spread with various healthy options while looking out to a lush garden and a swimming pool through floor-to-ceiling windows. Those with dietary restrictions such as vegan, halal and gluten-free are also catered to. Mövenpick's signature Chocolate Hour in the afternoon also offers healthy treats that guests can enjoy for free. However, foodies should stop by noted chef Ian Kittichai Khum Hom for an elevated Thai dinner. Epicureans should note that Khum Hom hosts culinary collabs regularly and the next one being a four-hands dinner by chefs Ian and chef Knock Pat-In of Restaurant In on June 22-23.
While leisure and wellness guests already have their needs met, the introduction of BDMS Connect Center aims to cater to event attendees and business travellers. The new building features state-of-the-art facilities across over 3,400m² and four levels amid lush surroundings with a waterfall. Being LEED-certified, sustainability practices such as electric vehicle chargers, light-coloured pavements, non-toxic building materials, LED bulbs and recycled plastic carpets are in place.
