A jealous father shot his estranged wife as she arrived at school with their two children, and then took his own life, in Nonthaburi on Monday morning.
The man arrived by motorcycle to confront the woman after she dropped their two sons at elementary school, according to local media reports.
The couple had separated about a month ago. He had learned she was in a relationship with another man, but he wanted to get back together.
CCTV camera footage from the Nakornnont Municipality School 1 showed the woman parking a car outside the school on Monday morning. Shortly after the two children walked into school, four gunshots were heard.
She was shot twice in the stomach and was in critical condition at a nearby hospital. The children's father was found dead with gunshot wounds to his head and a pistol near his hand.
The eldest son, aged 9, rushed back outside after he heard the shots and saw both his parents on the ground. He was in shock and in care of teachers at the school, the reports said.
The youngest son, aged 6, told police his parents had been living apart for over a month.
Police were investigating, but said the shooting appeared motivated by jealousy.
Names were withheld to protect the children.
