Karaoke quarrel ends in shooting

NAKHON RATCHASIMA: Four men were shot and wounded outside a karaoke bar where two groups of customers had argued earlier over song choices.

The shooting occurred at the Katang karaoke shop on Chok Chai-Khon Buri Road in tambon Thung Arun of Khon Buri district, said Pol Col Kan Singchangthai, who received the call shortly before midnight on Friday.

Police learned that two groups of men had been drinking liquor inside the shop when Nanthaphat Thongnok, 48, and his friends began singing the same song that another group had sung earlier. That angered Anon Mungkratok, 26, and his friends and an argument ensued.

After Mr Nanthaphat and his friends paid the bill and were going to their vehicles, Mr Anon and his friends followed. Mr Anon suddently pulled out a pistol and opened fire, after which he and his friends fled on motorcycles, according to police.

Mr Nanthaphat and three other men were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.

Police are looking for Mr Anon and his friends, who face arrest on charges of attempted murder.
