Summer storms bringing some hail are forecast for upper Thailand from Tuesday to Friday, starting in the Northeast and East, then moving into the North and the Central Plain from Wednesday.

The storm front is the result of a high pressure system from China expanding into an already hot Thailand, Wanchai Sakudomchai, director-general of the Meteorological Department, said on Monday.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, storms are likely in the following areas:

• the northeastern provinces of Amnat Charoen, Bung Kan, Chaiyaphum, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Loei, Maha Sarakham, Mukdahan, Nakhon Phanom, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Nong Khai, Roi Et, Sakon Nakhon, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani and Yasothon;

• the central provinces of Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Chai Nat, Lop Buri, Nakhon Sawan, Saraburi, Sing Buri and Uthai Thani.

On Thursaday and Friday storms and some hail are expected in:
