Fans of World Boxing Council champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai have been shocked by his lover's announcement confirming they have ended their 14-year relationship for good.

Fans had been expecting the couple to announce their marriage soon.

Pachareewan "Kay" Kanha, 30, announced via her Facebook page in the name of Olympus Zus early Thursday morning that she had broken up with the 31-year-old super flyweight title holder.

The message came to a surprise as the two had maintained their relationship through thick and thin.

Srisaket, also known as Laem, once said that when he arrived in Bangkok he had no money, just a packet of instant noodles. So he boiled them in water, had his lover eat the noodles and he drank the soup.

Whatever the circumstances, she never left him and always gave him moral support, Srisaket said.

"Kay and Pi Laem broke up peacefully. Please accept our decision. We remain like brother and sister. We do not hate each other. Please give your moral support for Pi Laem to fight for the country. Thank you for all your moral support," Ms Pachareewan wrote.

In an earlier post, she wrote that she had made a transfer to return money and that started a single life.

Early this month Srisaket was named the WBC’s Asian Boxer of the Year, following his highly impressive campaign last year that included two victories in the United States over Roman Gonzalez.

In late February Srisaket beat Mexican challenger Juan Francisco Estrada in Los Angeles.

Srisaket had earlier planned their wedding for Feb 28. Immediately after the fight, he said he would reschedule it upon his return to Thailand.

It's not to be.
