NAKHON RATCHASIMA: Wax figurines featuring the 12 young footballers and their coach who were trapped in flooded Tham Luang cave, and their rescuers, will add colour to the annual candle procession festival here next week.

The sculptures depicting the young footballers' plight and the dangerous rescue mission are being given a final touch by a team of sculptors at Wat Pho in Muang district.

The team also crafted giant wax sculptures featuring aspects of Buddhism and mystical animals for the annual Wax Candle Parade through the streets of Muang district on July 27-28 to mark Khao Pansa, the Buddhist Lent.

Wat Pho’s wax candle procession attracts thousands of visitors every year.
