Brazilian DJ injured in fall at Suvarnabhumi terminal

SAMUT PRAKAN: Police are investigating why a 31-year-old Brazilian disc jockey fell from the third floor level of the passenger terminal at Suvarnabhumi, breaking his leg and ankle, early on Thursday.

Tthe tourist, identified Ricardo Vileva e Silva, was wearing only swimming trunks.

He was found lying on the ground on the second floor of the terminal, near Gate 3, about 3am on Thursday. 

Medics called to attend him said he sustained a broken leg and ankle in the fall. 

He was taken to Samitivej Suvarnabhumi Hospital, where he is recovering.

Officials said Mr Vileva arrived in Thailand on Sept 13 on Ethopian Airlines flight ET 628 and gave an address in Phuket. He had worked as a  DJ at several night spots, mainly in Phuket Province, and is due to leave the country on Dec 7 on flight ET 629.

Police were waiting to question him. The Brazilian embassy has been informed.

It was the second such incident at the passenger terminal in a week.

On Oct 12, a 52-year-old German tourist fell to his death from the fourth floor, landing on a concrete beam on the second floor level.
