People can start viewing court announcements about cases and file documents online at the courts’ new website.

Suriyan Hongwilai, spokesman of the Courts of Justice, said Supreme Court president Cheep Julamont and the courts’ office had issued new criteria and methods of filing documents and publishing announcements on the progress of cases, which allow online use.

The website at https://enotice.coj.go.th is now the portal to all courts through an e-Notice system. Any court can post its announcements and the public can check them from anywhere.

Examples of the announcements are orders involving the appointment of inheritance administrators, child registration or others, which normally require publication in newspapers for certain periods, Mr Suriyan said.

As of Saturday evening, no announcements were posted on the website.

The website can also be used to give details about lawsuits and other case documents which could not be submitted or published through other channels.

With its Google-like search function, the public can also look up names of parties to cases or court case numbers quickly.

The system will drastically reduce the time and procedures and is more effective than newspaper announcements, according to Mr Suriyan.

There are also security features and timestamps which can be used as evidence when documents are filed or published.

To protect the privacy of parties to a case, data will be automatically erased after six months unless otherwise specified by courts in which case there will be pop-up messages to let people know, he said.
