Bangkok's air still unhealthy

Unhealthy smog levels were recorded again in greater Bangkok on Thursday, with improvement in some areas but still hazardous in others including parts of Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan and Samut Sakhon provinces.

The Pollution Control Department said the levels of particulate matter 2.5 micrometres or less in diameter (PM2.5) ranged between 41 and 76 microgrammes per cubic metre of air in greater Bangkok in the past 24 hours. The safe threshold is 50mcg.

In Bangkok, unsafe dust levels were reported from Kanchanaphisek Road in Bang Khunthian district, Lat Phrao Road and Phlab Phla sub-district in Wang Thonglang district and Din Daeng Road in Din Daeng district.

Hazardous smog warnings were also issued for tambon Nakhon Pathom of Muang district in Nakhon Pathom province, tambon Bang Kruai of Bang Kruai district in Nonthaburi, tambon Song Khanong of Phra Pradaeng district in Samut Prakan province and tambon Om Noi of Krathum Baen district and Rama II Road in Muang district of Samut Sakhon province.
