Couple killed, young daughter injured in head-on collision

NAKHON RATCHASIMA: A couple were killed and their seven-year-old daughter injured when a pickup they were travelling in collided with a six-wheel truck in Prathai district on Sunday morning.

The accident occurred about 10am on the Prathai-Ban Mai Chaipot road in tambon Talat Sai of Prathai district.

Samlee Yuenyong, the driver of the six-wheel truck, told police he was transporting frozen chicken to Mukdahan province. A pickup coming from the opposite direction had tried to overtake the two vehicles in front of it, but instead collided head-on with his truck.

The pickup driver, Krisna Taniwan, and his wife Chutima Mumklang were killed and their seven-year-old daughter injured. The girl was admitted to Prathai Hospital. The pickup was totally demolished. 

Police were investigating.
