Majority say Prayut has done well as PM: Nida Poll

A majority of people think Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has performed satisfactorily during the past three years and six months as prime minister, according to a survey conducted by the National Institute of Development Administration, or Nida Poll.

The poll was carried out on 1,250 people aged 18 and over of various levels of education and occupations throughout the country on Feb 19-21.

A little over 20% of the respondents rated Gen Prayut's performance as "very good" for being decisive and transparent in his handling of the country's administration, while 48.16% said that his perfomance has been "fairly good" for having made concrete achievements in tackling corruption and maintaining the country's peace and order.

On the other hand, 19.68% of the respondents said Gen Prayut's overall performance has been "unsatisfactory" as the government has not been able to solve political conflicts and economic problems, while 11.68% rated his performance as "very poor."

In the same survey, 71.60% of respondents praised Gen Prayut for his strong intention to work for the country and the people; 68.56% for his decisiveness; 76.56% for his strong leadership; 59.12% for his ability to solve the country's problems, and 55.28% for his transparency and accountability.
