When the Thai League 1 battles take place this weekend, Jadet Meelarp of Port will steal the spotlight from hotshot strikers and so-called super-coaches for once.

Jadet returned as coach of Port when former national team boss Kiatisak Senamuang resigned on Wednesday after a spate of poor results.

Jadet, who was having a successful -- though not dazzling -- run with Port before Kiatisak's appointment in May, will be back in charge of the team's dugout when they take on Pattaya United away tomorrow night.

Port manager Ong-arj Kosinka said: "We will have Jadet Meelarp back again as coach after Kiatisak's resignation.

"Although we will be without Nitipong Selanont, who is suspended, we believe that we can claim a point from this game."

Pattaya United assistant coach Supat On-thong said: "Mongkol Thossakrai will start again so we can expect some improvement in the team.

"We have not lost in nine matches, but this will be a different game.

"Port are a good team. Although they haven't won many matches of late, they have many good players. We cannot underestimate them at all."

Meanwhile, defending champions SCG Muang Thong United are hoping for an away win over Navy this evening.

In the first leg of this season, the Kirins routed Navy 4-0 with Thailand striker Teerasil Dangda scoring twice.

Muang Thong coach Totchtawan Sripan said: "It is not easy to beat Navy at their home ground.

"We have Kawin Thamsatchanan, Lee Ho and Sarach Yooyen on the injury list, but we have no other option than getting three points from this game.

"Our other key players like Teerasil Dangda, Theerathon Bunmathan and Heberty Fernandes are available."

Navy coach Somchai Chuayboonchum said: "We have drawn four matches in a row and, at least, we don't have to worry about relegation.

"Our players are all fit. We hope to pick up a point or may be even upset Muang Thong."

Ratchaburi hope to bring Buriram United's long winning streak to an end tomorrow.

Their manager Robert Procuerer said: "Our players are very confident after beating Si Sa Ket 3-0 and we feel we can surprise the Thunder Castle in this match."

Buriram assistant manager Manasak Teerapanont said: "Our team's goal is to win back the league title, therefore we are expecting three points from the match."

Third-placed Bangkok United should enjoy an easy win when they host winless Super Power today.
