King Power Group, which owns two European clubs, has opened the door for experienced Thai coaches, including jobless former national team boss Kiatisak Senamuang, to work at Belgium's second-division side Oud-Heverlee Leuven (OHL), a company's executive said yesterday.
Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, a King Power Group executive and deputy chairman of English Premier League club Leicester City, was speaking at a news conference to announce this year's U15 King Power's Cup.
The event will help select 10 talented young Thai players for long-term training at Leicester City.
Aiyawatt said he had offered Kiatisak, better known to the local fans as "Zico", to become an assistant coach at OHL.
"I have not heard anything from Kiatisak yet -- he is busy with his pro-licence coaching course," said Aiyawatt. "We will wait for his decision first and if he is really interested, we will discuss the details."
He added that the offer was not only for Kiatisak.
"Any Thai coach with substantial experience can come and talk to me. I don't have a special interest in Kiatisak but I think he deserves another chance," he said.
Kiatisak recently quit as coach of Thai League 1 side Port recently after he resigned as coach of the national side a few months ago.
King Power Group recently appointed former Leicester City coach Nigel Pearson as OHL coach.
Meanwhile, the U15 tournament will be held in six regions of the country.
The first leg of the tournament will take place in the northeastern region from Oct 31-Nov 3, followed by the northern, eastern, southern, central and Bangkok areas. The final will be held on Dec 17 in Bangkok.
