Ten-man Chulalongkorn beat Thammasat 2-1 in the annual football match between the two universities at Supachalasai Stadium on Saturday.
Chula captain Apiwat Ngualamhin opened the scoring from the spot after 15 minutes only for his Thammasat counterpart Sarach Yooyen to equalise, also with a spot kick, just before half-time.
Korrawit Namviset scored the winner for Chula in the 55th minute in their 73rd meeting.
Both sides had several Thailand internationals, thanks to the universities' scholarships for athletes.
Chula featured a number of Thailand stars who played at the Asian Cup last month, including goalkeeper Sivarak Tedsungnoen, forward Supachai Chaided and defender Pansa Hemviboon.
They were coached by Chakkarat Tonehongsa.

Thammasat featured Sarach, Adison Promrak and Adisak Kraisorn, and were under the guidance of former Thailand international Thawatchai Damrong-ongtrakul.
Chula were awarded a penalty when Supachai was tripped in the area by Thammasat goalkeeper Chanin Sae-ia, and Apiwat made no mistake from the spot.
Apiwat then turned villain when he conceded a penalty for a foul on Rachanon Srinok and Sarach sent his kick past Sivarak.
Chula regained the lead 10 minutes after the interval when Korrawit scored from close range. Chula were reduced to 10 men in the 72nd minute when Rattanakorn Maikami received his second yellow card.
Thammasat threw everything at Chula in the remaining minutes but Chula held off their attacks to win 2-1.
Thammasat now lead Chula 24-18 with 31 draws in the traditional tussle which began in 1934. Continuing the tradition, the event was filled with colourful parades and political banners.
