Suphanburi's fortunes in Thai League 1 remained unchanged under new coach Adebayo Gabadebo as they suffered a 1-0 home loss to Samut Prakan City on Saturday night.

A penalty converted by captain Peeradol Chumratsamee just before the half-hour mark lifted Samut Prakan to third place and ensured that they would stay there for at least a week.

Gabadebo took over the reins of Suphanburi from Totchtawan Sripan, who quit two weeks ago after an unsuccessful stint, only to see his team remain pinned to the foot of the table.

Meanwhile, newcomers Trat continued their good run with a 2-0 victory over 10-man Sukhothai.

Lonsana Doumbouya put hosts Trat on course with a goal on 24 minutes, and when Sukhothai's Kongnateechai Boonma was sent off in 60th minute, the writing was on the wall for the visitors.

Sathaporn Daengsee then set up Durosinmi Gafar to seal the fate of the encounter six minutes from time.

Trat are now on an eight-game unbeaten run which also includes impressive victories over top-flight giants Chiang Rai United and PT Prachuap.

Hosts Prachuap were held to a goalless draw by Chiang Rai United.

on Sunday, leaders Port host defending champions Buriram United and SCG Muang Thong United travel to Chonburi.
