SCG Muang Thong United ended an epic losing streak against arch foes Buriram United spanning over two years with an impressive 3-1 Thai League 1 home victory on Saturday night.

An early Heberty Fernandes corner lob found South Korean defender Oh Ban-Suk, who headed the ball into the net to give the Kirins their first goal.

The hosts' second goal was the result of a costly defensive blunder by Chittipat Thanklang, who failed to clear the ball properly, allowing Muang Thong striker Derley to score from point-blank range.

Heberty capped off the goal-fest with a strike a couple of minutes into the second half. Teenage Suphanat Mueanta pulled one back for the Thunder Castle in the final injury time.

In another match, hosts Ratchaburi got the better of Chonburi 2-0.

Ratchaburi, beaten by the Sharks 1-0 in the first leg, were given a major boost in the 14th minute when Yannick Boli scored.

The hosts did well to weather everything Chonburi could throw at them before the visitors dashed their own hopes for a late comeback by conceding a penalty five minutes from time which Philip Roller converted.

The clash between third-placed Port and visiting Nakhon Ratchasima fell a prey to a persistent downpour in the capital and was eventually postponed to a date to be announced later.

The match referee took the players off the field in the third minute when heavy rain came down and the water-logged pitch was subsequently declared unplayable by the league officials.

Four matches are scheduled to be played on Sunday with the spotlight being on second-ranked Chiang Rai United's home game against Trat.

A win for Beetles would help them overtake Buriram United for the second time in the season, giving the Beetles a two-point advantage over the defending champions.
