Port have sent another clear signal of their title ambitions to their opponents by signing Thai-Swiss midfielder Charyl Chappuis from SCG Muang Thong United.

The deal was announced on Friday by Port chairwoman Nualphan Lamsam.

Chappuis joins a long list of new acquisitions by the Klong Toey-based club, which ended their long barren run with the FA Cup trophy last year.

The other players to have joined Port for the new season are Karnnarin Tavornsak, Natthawut Sombutyotha, Tanasit Siripala, Tanakorn Dangthong, Heberty Fernandes, Chatmongkol Thongkiri, Jarurapat Satthum and Adisak Kraisorn.

Chappuis, a former Thai national team midfielder, will have company at his new club as both Adisak and Heberty were his teammates at Muang Thong United.

Kawin's future

Kawin Thamsatchanan, one of the top Thai goalkeepers, has been given the green light to move from OH Leuven in Belgium to J-League side Consadole Sapporo on a two-year loan contract.

Second-tier OH Leuven have decided to let Kawin join Thailand playmaker Chanathip Songkrasin at Consadole Sapporo in the Japanese league.

Kawin, 30, had tried hard to become the first-choice goalkeeper at OH Leuven, but failed in his bid.

Consadole Sapporo were on the lookout for a goalkeeper after their South Korean custodian Gu Sung-Yun returned to his country for the compulsory military service.

The Japanese side's second and third goalkeepers are both nursing injuries.

Apart from Kawin and Chanathip, Theerathon Bunmathan and Teerasil Dangda are the other Thai stars playing in Japan.
