Thai League 1 club SCG Muang Thong United signed two new players on the transfer deadline day on Monday night.

Thai defender Anawin Jujeen and Uzbekistan midfielder Sardor Mirzaev were unveiled at a press conference at SCG Stadium on Tuesday.

Mirzaev, who represented Uzbekistan at various levels, has played for the senior national team six times. He was with Lokomotiv Tashkent for five years.

Muang Thong's other players for the upcoming season include Sarach Yooyen, Adisorn Promrak, Derley, Dang Van Lam, Saharat Kanyaroj, Saringkan Promsupra, Sorawit Panthong, Willian Popp and Lucas Rocha. Their top striker Teerasil Dangda, however, left for Japanese club Shimizu S-Pulse.

Muang Thong president Wiluck Lohthong said the squad for the 2020 season is a mixture of young and experienced players.

He said the Kirins always try to give chances to players from their own academy.

Club director Ronnarit Suewaja said: "We are ready for the new season. We will spring many surprises."

Since the league was rebranded in 2009, Muang Thong have won the title four times, two fewer than Buriram United's record of six titles.

However, Muang Thong have become also-rans since their last victorious season in 2016.

The Kirins have sold several key players including Chanathip Songkrasin, Kawin Thamsatchanan and Theerathon Bunmathan.

Chiang Rai United, who were crowned champions for the first time last year, are seen as top contenders in the upcoming season along with Buriram and big-spending Port.

The new season starts on Friday. Muang Thong, who finished fifth last season, travel to newcomers BG Pathum on Saturday.
