Thai racer Sandy Kraokaew Stuvik secured his second consecutive overall championship in the GT3 class of the Thailand Super Series 2020 at the weekend.

As the reigning champion, Sandy managed to get back-to-back titles in GT3, the Thailand Super Series' premier class, driving his Audi R8 GT3 Evo for B-Quik Absolute Racing, who secured the teams' title.

Together with his teammate Daniel Bilski of Australia, the pair drove an outstanding race on Sunday to secure the championship in dramatic fashion at Chang International Circuit in Buri Ram.

Going into the weekend, Sandy was third in the overall standings, with a sizeable deficit to deal with against the championship leaders.

From Friday's free practice sessions, it was clear that the B-Quik Absolute Racing's Audi R8 GT3 Evo would be contenders as Sandy and Bilski frequently topped the timesheets.

Sandy and Bilski did well in the final race on Sunday to fend off Bentley's attack to win the tournament and ultimately the 2020 championship.

"I can't believe it," Sandy said.

"I really didn't expect to win the championship this year, but after a little bit of luck, and a lot of hard work, we did it! I'm so happy for our team to also secure the teams' championship gain.

"Now it's time to celebrate a bit, and will soon start working for next year."
