Port will be on a revenge mission when they meet Buriram United at PAT Stadium in Thai League 1 on Monday.

Buriram ended Port's defence of their FA Cup title last week when they beat the holders on penalties after a scoreless draw at the same venue.

Port are second in the league, seven points behind leaders BG Pathum United, while Buriram sit third.

Port were also unconvincing in their previous league match at the weekend as they needed a last-gasp goal from Yannick Boli to beat Sukhothai 1-0.

A slip-up against the Thunder Castle could see Port fall further behind BG who entertain lowly Trat on Monday.

Port's assignment looks tougher as their defender Adisorn Promrak has been ruled out for two months after sustaining an injury during the game against Sukhothai.

"We must try to close the gap on the leaders," said Port coach Sarawut Treephan.

In today's only other game, BG Pathum are heavy favourites against Trat, who are second from bottom.

The Rabbits remain the only unbeaten side this season after they defeated Police Tero 2-0 on Saturday.

BG look more dangerous after they got strikers Diogo Luis Santo and Teerasil Dangda who scored on his debut against Sukhothai.

Pathum coach Dusit Chalermsan is likely to rotate his players with an eye on their trip to Buriram at the weekend.
