Champions Chiang Rai United were held to a 1-1 draw by Bangkok United in Thai League 1 on Wednesday night.

Hosts Chiang Rai dominated for long periods in the first half and were awarded a penalty following a VAR review in the 37th minute.

But Bill Rosimar's spot kick was saved by Bangkok goalkeeper Michael Falkesgaard.

Tristan Do put the visitors in front in the 49th minute and the VAR review proved that the referee was correct.

The Beetles were awarded another penalty, also after a VAR review, in the 64th minute and this time Bill made no mistake from the spot.

Elsewhere, Police Tero rallied from two goals down inside the first six minutes to win 5-3 at Samut Prakan to boost their fight against the drop.

Samut Prakan raced to a 2-0 lead through Suphanan Bureerat and Tardeli Barros only for Tiago Chulapa (18) and Teerathep Winothai (37) to make it 2-2 at half-time.

Arthit Butjinda scored twice early in the second half as the visitors took a 4-2 lead.

Samut Prakan's Peeradol Chamratsamee was sent off after receiving his second yellow card in the 70th minute.

Tardeli cut the deficit to 4-3 after stroking home a penalty in the 83rd minute but Tiago scored his team's fifth goal in the dying moments.

Suphanburi defeated Rayong 1-0 with Leandro Assumpcao scoring the winner in the 54th minute to send the visitors closer to relegation.

In last night's other game, Nakhon Ratchasima beat Ratchaburi 1-0.

In today's action, in-form Muang Thong United visit Chonburi.
