Thai League 1 leaders BG Pathum United are looking forward to beating second-ranked Port tomorrow to move closer to the title.

Pathum passed a tough test at the weekend when they won 1-0 at Buriram United with Brazilian striker Diogo Luis Santo scoring the winner against his former team.

The Rabbits are now 13 points ahead of struggling Port who were beaten 2-0 by Police Tero at the weekend for their second successive league loss.

"It will be another tough game for us," Pathum coach Dusit Chalermsan told a pre-match press conference yesterday.

"Although Port have lost two games in a row, we can't underestimate them. They have a good attacking game. However, we will play at home and we are aiming for three points. We are looking forward to winning the game and the title."

Port coach Sarawut Treephan said his men had conceded too many soft goals and that he was trying to help them regain confidence.

"BG Pathum are stronger with the arrival of Diogo and [Thailand striker] Teerasil Dangda for the second half of the season. They are determined to win their maiden league title.

"We are underdogs and we will try to get a point. Our players have to forget the recent results and look forward to this match."

In today's action, third-placed Buriram will try to bounce back when they travel to relegation contenders Rayong.

In today's other game, Police Tero will hope to continue their impressive run in their bid to avoid the drop when they visit out-of-sorts Ratchaburi.

Police Tero have sealed two consecutive wins while Ratchaburi have suffered three successive losses.
