BEROUN: Thailand's Atthaya Thitikul shot a stunning seven-under-par 65 in the final round for 201 to win the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open by one stroke on Sunday.

It was the teenager's third title on the Ladies European Tour and also first LET victory as a professional after she previously won the 2017 and 2019 Ladies European Thailand Championship in Pattaya when she was an amateur.

The 18-year-old defeated Nuria Iturrioz by one stroke after the Spaniard shot a bogey-free round of 68 to finish on 202.

Atthaya got off to a bad start in the final round when she dropped two shots in the opening four holes but was quick to bounce back with three consecutive birdies.

The 18-year-old rolled in another birdie on the ninth to make the turn in 34 and got two more birdies on the 10th and 11th holes.

The Thai star made another three birdies in her final four holes to set the clubhouse lead of 15-under-par 201, which was enough to seal victory.

"I am so grateful for my first win outside my country. I came close to a win on many previous tournaments, and I finally did it. It means so much to me!" said Atthaya who was runner-up at the LPGA Thailand last month.

"I am so proud to be able to represent my country. I understand my game which helped me a lot today."

Iturrioz had another excellent day carding a 68 to add to her 66 and 68 in the first two rounds.

At the last hole, the three-time LET winner knew she needed a birdie to force a play-off and went for the green in two on the par-five 18th.

However, she could only manager a par for second place.

"This is golf, a few putts did not drop today, and it was really tight, just by one shot," Iturrioz said.
