Ratchaburi FC picked up their first point in Group G of the AFC Champions League after a goalless draw with South Korean club Pohang Steelers at the Rajamangala National Stadium on Sunday.

Ratchaburi, who have now gone five games without scoring a goal in the tournament, did deal a big blow to Pohang, denting their hopes of finishing on top of the group.

It was a tough game for the Thai club as they found themselves almost immediately pinned in their own half against a Pohang side led by Lim Sang-Hyub and Boris Tashti in attack.

Pohang could have taken the lead in the second minute when Lim chased down a Lee Seung-Mo through pass, but his shot was blocked by Ratchaburi defender Praweenwat Boonyong.

The Korean side continued to dictate their terms and came close to scoring in the 17th minute but Lee angled his header wide.

Pohang had another chance to take the lead a minute later when Alexander Grant blasted his close-range volley above the bar off Kang Sang-Woo's corner.

Ratchaburi had their chances as well but they also failed to avail them.

Pathomchai Sueasakul sent a shot wide near the 30-minute mark before Steeven Langil's free-kick was cleared by a Pohang defender.

In the 33rd minute, the Ratchaburi got another chance but this time Thanaset Sujarit fired the ball over the bar.

Pohang dominated the second half but failed to find their scoring boots, squandering several opportunities to allow Ratchaburi bag their first point of the tournament.

Ratchaburi will next play Malaysia's Johor Darul Ta'zim in their final Group G game on Wednesday, when Pohang will take on Japan's Nagoya Grampus at the same venue.
